AgencyAnalytics Alternatives: 7 Options for Agency Client Reporting

· 4 min read · Ali Raza Abro

The main AgencyAnalytics alternatives are DashThis for simple reporting dashboards, Databox for goals and KPI tracking, Whatagraph and Swydo for polished multi-channel reports, Looker Studio for free and fully custom dashboards, and automated reports built with Make or n8n that send the numbers straight to email or Slack. Which one fits depends on why you are leaving: cost as your client count grows, features you do not use, connectors you are missing, or simply wanting less time spent in a dashboard tool.

AgencyAnalytics is a good product. It is built for agencies, has a client portal and includes SEO tools such as rank tracking. People look for alternatives for fairly predictable reasons, so start there.

Why agencies look for an AgencyAnalytics alternative

  • Cost per client. Pricing that scales with clients can outgrow a small agency's margins. Check how any tool's pricing scales with your own client count.
  • Paying for SEO tools you already have. If you use Ahrefs or Semrush for rank tracking, the built-in SEO features may be redundant.
  • Clients do not log in. A client portal is only valuable if clients use it. Many prefer a short email or a call.
  • A missing connector or custom metric. Niche CRMs, call tracking or custom calculations can be hard in any off-the-shelf tool.
  • Time. Someone still has to check each dashboard and write the commentary.

The best AgencyAnalytics alternatives

1. DashThis

The simplest of the dedicated tools. Connect sources, pick a template and send a clean dashboard. Best for agencies that want reports out quickly with little training. Less suited if you need a full client portal or built-in SEO tools.

2. Databox

Strong on goals, scorecards and alerts, and it reaches beyond marketing into sales and operations data. Best for agencies, or their clients, who think in KPIs and targets. Less agency-specific out of the box. I compare all three in DashThis vs AgencyAnalytics vs Databox.

3. Whatagraph

Focused on visually polished, multi-channel marketing reports, with data blending across sources. Best for agencies whose clients expect presentation-quality reports.

4. Swydo

Reporting and monitoring for PPC and multi-channel agencies, with templates and scheduled reports. Worth a look if paid media is most of your work.

5. Looker Studio

Free, flexible and native to Google data such as GA4, Search Console, Google Ads and Sheets. The trade-off is setup time, and non-Google sources usually need paid connectors or a data pipeline. See AgencyAnalytics vs Looker Studio.

6. Google Sheets plus Looker Studio, fed by automation

A middle path many agencies end up on: an automation pulls each client's numbers into a Google Sheet on a schedule, and Looker Studio or the sheet itself becomes the report. You get full control of metrics and pay only for the automation platform.

7. Automated reports with no dashboard at all

Often the best alternative is not another dashboard. A Make or n8n workflow pulls GA4, Search Console, ads and CRM figures every week, an AI step writes a short plain-English summary, and the report goes to the client by email and to your account manager in Slack. Clients read an email; they rarely log into a portal. This is what my Agency Reporting & Alerts Pack does, and the full method is in automated client reporting.

How to choose

Answer these four questions:

  1. Do clients actually use a portal? If yes, stay with a portal tool such as AgencyAnalytics or DashThis. If no, consider automated email reports.
  2. Where does your data live? Mostly Google: Looker Studio is hard to beat on cost. Many niche sources: check connectors carefully, or plan an automation.
  3. How many clients will you have in a year? Price every option at that number, not today's.
  4. Who writes the commentary? If an account manager spends an hour per report explaining the numbers, an AI summary step saves more time than switching dashboard tools.

A quick comparison

  • Best all-in-one agency platform: AgencyAnalytics.
  • Simplest dashboards: DashThis.
  • Goals and KPIs: Databox.
  • Presentation-quality reports: Whatagraph.
  • PPC-heavy agencies: Swydo.
  • Lowest cost, most control: Looker Studio, ideally fed by an automation.
  • Least time spent: automated email and Slack reports with AI summaries.

Features and pricing change often, so check each vendor's current pricing page and run a trial with two or three real clients before migrating everyone.

Migrating without breaking client reporting

  • Run old and new reports side by side for one reporting cycle.
  • Match metric definitions, for example GA4 sessions vs users, before clients spot different numbers.
  • Tell clients the format is changing and why, ideally with a better summary on top.
  • Move clients in batches, starting with the ones who care least about the format.

How I help

I build automated client reporting for marketing agencies in Make and n8n: scheduled data pulls from GA4, Search Console, ad platforms and GoHighLevel, AI summaries and delivery to email or Slack, all on your own accounts. FAQ

What is the best AgencyAnalytics alternative?

It depends on why you are switching. DashThis is the simplest, Databox is best for KPIs and goals, Looker Studio is the cheapest, and automated email reports save the most time if clients do not use a portal.

Is there a free alternative to AgencyAnalytics?

Looker Studio is free and works well with Google data sources. Non-Google sources often need a paid connector or an automation that writes the data into Google Sheets first.

Can I automate client reports without a dashboard tool?

Yes. A Make or n8n workflow can pull each client's metrics on a schedule, add an AI-written summary and email the report, with no dashboard subscription needed.

Is DashThis cheaper than AgencyAnalytics?

It depends on your number of clients and dashboards, because the two price differently. Compare both current pricing pages at your expected client count.
